Your characters aren't exactly sure how or why - but either by some eldritch beings playing around, or a simple glitch in reality, they've been transported to a town inhabited entirely by people from other universes.

Maybe some people from their universe show up, sometimes even people who shouldn't be alive. It becomes clear even some people supposedly from the same reality remember things just the *slightest* bit differently to eachother. Doesn't matter. These are the versions of their friends they have now, and you have to accept that.

The town is all there is to this reality. Food from the grocery store seems to just magically restock over night. Soulless "NPCs" inhabit every job, existing only to do one task. Some inhabitants start working to feel a sense of purpose (and to earn money, which also just mysteriously appears when they get the job done), slowly replacing each NPC.

Nobody is able to die. Sure, they can be tortured and things can be done to them that *should* cause death, but they always come back.

Characters who used to have Godlike power have been significantly weaked.. how humbling.

This town only has one house, a giant mansion.. or maybe hotel, that houses each and every new person within it somehow. Rooms just appear, it seems.

They simply have to learn to accept this life.
