The Wild Frontier - 1886
When Francis Del Mar drove his herd of cattle up into the shadow of the southeastern Montana mountains, it birthed a little town on the edge of American Civilization. Interlopers on the land, they faced frigid winters, a lawless country, and isolation that forced them to fend for themselves.

The summer of 1886 brought scorching heat, drying out the grazing fields and forcing cowboys to drive their herds further from home in search of grass for their cattle. It's a fight to live, a fight to survive. No weather will bend them, no animal break them.

The Gentled Future - 2005
A century and a half since Mister Del Mar made something of his spot along the Madison river, a proper township has grown. Desperately trying to hold onto the tradition of the past, the residents of Del Mar have been forced to cater to tourist whims. What once were working ranches are now neat little B&B's, old buildings made museums, and ranch work sensationalized to rodeos.

But in some ways, life in Del Mar has never gotten easier, only evolved. While the landscape has been softened by time and law, they now face regulation, forest fires, a failing economy. Survival is still the paramount goal for the residents of Del Mar, Montana.

Founded in 1876, the town has been called home by many for close to two centuries. The majority of the population are faithful to one specific rule- welcome everybody with open arms. Whether they're only here for a short while, staying for the summer, or settling down, they're a community all the same. Though, naturally not every citizen sticks to this rule so the town isn't as perfect as it strives to be.
